The principle of being able to rejoice in the Lord– not in circumstances or in situations, but in the Lord who works all things together for good.

a) When? (Always)

1 Thessalonians 5:16 “Always be joyful.”

Philippians 4:4 “Always be full of joy in the Lord. I say it again—rejoice!”

1.1 I Never Get Tired of Reminding You of These Things

a) Paul repeats himself to safeguard the faith

1.2 (V4) No confidence in human effort to be right with God

Circumcision, Tribe of Benjamin, obedience to the Jewish Law (All these things won’t save you)

1.3 (V8) Everything is worthless when compared to what Christ has done

a) Have you come to the realization that nothing is as important as your relationship with Christ?

2. (V13) Focus on forgetting the past and look forward to what lies ahead

Good or bad it does no good to focus on the past

3. (V18) Their conduct shows they are really enemies of the cross
